Are you looking for an internship in which all aspects of purchasing at an international webshop are discussed? Are you interested in games? Then Startselect has the internship for you!


Your gaming field / Your position

During your internship, you will support the Purchasing department in their daily tasks and you’ll learn everything about purchasing processes, international business, realising new business opportunities, assortment optimization and collaborations with major brands within the game industry. You will support our Business Developer in connecting new brands and suppliers and going live with Startselect in new countries.

We’ve got the following tasks in mind:

  • Mapping all gaming and streaming services within the countries in which Startselect is active

  • Map out from which (new) suppliers these products are available

  • Map out which product groups, outside the digital entertainment category, could also be of interest to us

  • You’ll create an overview of products and brands with which we can optimize our range and indicate which additions have the highest priority

Depending on your personal development with us, you will be given more responsibilities such as supporting our Business Developer in (contract) negotiations and connecting new brands and supporting our purchasing team in creating products and promotions.


About Startselect

We help consumers worldwide make the most of their leisure time by selling digital games, in-game credits, gift cards and subscriptions. From Eindhoven, we are active in 20 countries in Europe, Oceania, North America and the Middle East. We work directly with renowned brands such as Google, Apple, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Activision and Netflix. Our customers simply and securely buy a code with their favourite payment method, after which they receive it directly on their screen and by email. No more going to the store or waiting for the postman: Start, Select, Play!

What do you bring into the game?


  • You are currently following a HBO education in Commercial Economics, International Business or similar

  • You are available for at least 4 months from February 2022 for 4 or 5 days a week

  • You are representative and known for your good communication and social skills

  • You work accurately and have a great sense of responsibility, colleagues and classmates can always rely on you

  • You’ve got a professional level of the English language, both written and oral

  • You are up for a night of gaming. Whether it's a game of 'Mens ErgerJe Niet' with your aunt, or a Fortnite session with your friends, games are fun!

Of course we ensure a good balance between cooperation and any assignment. In addition, we offer you an internship allowance of € 250 per month (based on 40 hours), travel allowance (if you do not have student public transport), flexible working hours and a staff discount on our products.
